Home James, luxury narowboat hire, will be arriving at Thorn Marine April and will be available to hire from July, we will update this page and pictures as we have more information
Home James was built in 2005 and is a top end luxury narrowboat . Designed to accommodate 4 people in comfort.
The boat is equipped with everything you should need including;
- Full size cooker
- Fully equipped galley (kitchen)
- Lounge Pocket sprung bed setee (converts to double bed)
- Fixed double Bed
- Safety equipment
- Flush toilet
- Central heating
Prices and Important information
The cost of the hire varies depending on the time of year, see below.
A short break 3:00pm Friday until 10:00am Monday or 3:00pm Monday until 10:00am Friday
The cost includes Insurance, Fuel, Gas and linen
We are based on the Bridgewater Canal in Stockton Heath, just outh of warrington. With easy access to the Motorway network.

There two Main routes you can take
You will pass through Grapenhall, Thelwall, Lymm, Outrington, Dunham Massey, Altringcham, Sale, Trafford Park, Castlefield.
Heading through villages of Walton, Moore, Daersbury, Preston Brook, Acton bridge, Anderton, Northwich and Middlewich.
If you are on a Midweek break, you can also add it a visit to Worsley and Leigh if heading to Manchester or Down on to the Weaver Navigation if heading to Middlewich

Every hire begins with a comprehensive handover that meet industry standards
We will cover;
- Equipment locations
- Boat handling, mooring and turning
- Emergency actions
- Maps and timings
We will then take you down the canal for some practical training.
