Short Break Hire – T&C

• The boat is due back at 5pmon the day of hire, we reserve the right to charge £25 per half hour or part there of that the boat is late.
• The non-return of equipment i.e. Hammer, Mooring Pins etc or any breakages or damage will be chargeable.
• Portable gas appliances are NOT allowed on board under any circumstances.
• Barbecues may be brought onboard; they must be used on the towpath and must be emptied and cooled before returning it to the boat.
• No live bait/maggots are allowed on
• Failure to return the boat in a clean condition will result in loss of your Deposit.
• It is illegal to drive the boat whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You can face up to a £5000 fine! And you WILL be removed from the boat
• It is illegal to have more than 12 people on the boat
• Under no circumstances should any one go on the roof
• No intentional rocking of the boat
• No swimming or jumping in the canal
• Please respect other canal users
• Use the bin provided, do not litter the canal or banks
• Parking is provided free of charge at owners risk. We cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage incurred.
• Loss of the manual will result in a charge of £10
• You are liable for the first £500 of any accident that is your fault including any damage caused to the boat, other boats or property
• If anybody is found to be intoxicated, behaving in an unacceptable manner or in breach of the condition of hire we reserve the right to remove the entire party from the boat.
• If you have to be removed from the boat no money will be refunded and you are liable for any further transport costs for yourselves and the boat.
• Thorn Marine will not be liable for any death, personal injury, or loss of or damage to goods arising out of the hire of any items by them unless that death, personal injury or loss of, or damage to the goods arises directly from an act of omission on the part of the company, it's servant or agent.
• If you are found to be in breach of any of the above rules you will loose your security deposit, and may incur further charges

We reserve the write to change these condition with out prior notice, other conditions may apply on the day.

• Mixed Parties only.
• A £50 cash deposit is required on the day, refundable subject to conditions.
• Main driver/organiser must be over 25.
• It is illegal to have more than 12 people on board the boat
• A £50 non-refundable deposit is required with your booking, This is non refundable and non transferable.
• Full payment needs to be made no later than 1 calendar month before date of hire, or the booking will be cancelled, any monies paid are none refundable.
• No show on day will result in loss of all monies paid.
• There may be occasions when we need to cancel the booking due to problems out side our control.  This is very rare and we will try to re schedule your trip.
• If you wish to reschedule you trip please advise us as soon as possible, if we can re let the day booked there will be no additional charge.
• If you wish to cancel your trip please advise as soon as possible, if we can re let the day booked, we will refund any balance except the £50 booking deposit.
• The person in charge of the boat and at least one crew member must remain sober whilst driving the boat.  Alcohol limits are as defined by the Public Road Traffic Acts. Drunkenness and or antisocial behavior from any crew member will not be tolerated and will result in the loss of security deposit and repossession of the boat.
• We reserve the right has the right to refuse passage to any person or persons and the reasons for such a refusal need not be stated
